Kye C. Handy Elected District Director, Hinds Post I, for The Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division
Kye C. Handy, attorney in the firm’s Jackson office and member of the Litigation Practice, has been elected District Director for Hinds Post I for the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of The Mississippi Bar. Kye will serve a two-year term, beginning in August 2020. The YLD is a statewide organization, governed by its board of directors, working to uphold the values of strength and leadership across Mississippi. Members of the YLD are lawyers, age 37 or younger, active in numerous public service activities and legal education programs within the state.
At Balch, Kye focuses on general and commercial litigation. Kye has experience in personal injury matters and municipality defense and has strong working knowledge of various types of chancery and probate matters. She regularly assist clients with employment discrimination suits and navigating complex issues involving the Mississippi Tort Claims Act and EEOC regulations.
Kye currently serves as the Lawyer in Every Mississippi Classroom Chair and the Diversity Chair for the Capital Area Bar Association. She is also recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyers, Rising Star.
