L. Conrad Anderson IV, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Litigation Practice, has been elected to the Alabama State Bar Board of Bar Commissioners for the 2022-2025 term.
The Board of Bar Commissioners (BBC) is the governing and policy-making body of the Alabama State Bar. As a member of the Board of Bar Commissioners, Conrad will work alongside other members to determine the qualifications and requirements for admission to the practice of law, as well as investigating and acting on complaints concerning conduct of members and applicants for admission.
The Board of Bar Commissioners was established to develop and implement rules related to admissions, ethics and discipline of its membership. Other responsibilities include overseeing the bar examination and assisting local bar associations with ethics-related issues.
Conrad has remained an active member of the Alabama State Bar for many years, is a graduate of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum and previously served as President of the Alabama Classic Foundation. In addition, Conrad serves as the chair of the Birmingham Bar Association’s Nominating Committee and sits on the Board of Directors of the Birmingham Bar Foundation.
As a tech-minded trial attorney who litigates all manner of business disputes, much of Conrad’s time is spent defending class action lawsuits, often on behalf of banks and others in the financial industry. He has significant experience and expertise representing contractors and subcontractors in a variety of construction matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, payment disputes, bid protests, and insurance coverage issues.
