John Banks named Top 40 Under 40 Black Lawyers in Alabama by The National Black Lawyers
John Banks, attorney in the Birmingham office and member of the firm’s Litigation Practice, has been named one of Alabama’s Top 40 Under 40 Black Lawyers by The National Black Lawyers. This honor is awarded to the top 40 under 40 African American lawyers in each state or region with reputations for providing excellent legal representation in their respective practice areas.
The National Black Lawyers describes its membership as invitation only and based on current member referrals and independent research.
The National Black Lawyers is a professional organization that celebrates legal excellence and promotes its attorneys as subject‐matter experts, facilitates the exchange of timely information to enable members to maintain their status as leaders, and represents a strong national network of top African American attorneys.
John works on a variety of civil litigation matters for institutional and private clients. He assists clients on a wide variety of matters from trademark issues to administrative agency complaints.
John also helps small businesses resolve their issues through Balch Business Boost, a program to support entrepreneurs of color and/or women-owned businesses and start-ups by providing free or low-cost legal services.
Additionally, John serves as a co-chair of Balch’s Susan B. Livingston Boot Camp for Success, a program designed to equip incoming law students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the legal community with the necessary tools to succeed in law school and throughout their professional careers.
