Balch & Bingham Welcomes Hyde Carby to Grow Estate Planning & Trusts Practice
Balch & Bingham is pleased to welcome Hyde Carby as he joins the firm’s Birmingham office as a partner in the Estate Planning & Trusts Practice. Hyde brings more than 15 years of experience developing comprehensive estate plans, litigating will contests for beneficiaries and resolving complex estates for executors and administrators. Prior to joining Balch, Hyde was a partner at Carby & Carby in Mississippi.
Hyde focuses his practice on helping individuals and families establish estate plans to pass on their families' values and assets, creating financial security, family harmony, and tax efficiency for clients. With nearly 10 years of litigation experience, he has the courtroom experience to defend and minimize the risk of any disputes that may arise.
With a keen understanding of the complexities involved in estate planning, Hyde has successfully assisted mid and high-net worth individuals and couples in creating comprehensive estate plans to secure their assets during life and to pass on wealth. Hyde also possesses a deep understanding of the challenges faced by adults and minors with disabilities and their families and has drafted special needs trusts, represented the conservator of an estate in the management of a multi-million dollar personal injury settlement, and created guardianships for the management of both adults’ and minors’ affairs.
“I am thrilled to join the talented team at Balch,” Hyde said. “The firm's commitment to client-centered service aligns perfectly with my own values as an attorney. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to provide legal solutions and to guide our clients through the intricacies of estate planning. This is an outstanding platform to continue growing my practice.”
Hyde said the foundation of his work is the understanding that estate planning is about people and their families, adding that, “I love getting to know clients and learning about their lives, their life's work, and their hopes for their children and grandchildren.”
He earned his J.D. from University of Mississippi School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. Hyde is currently pursuing his L.L.M. in Taxation with a certificate in Estate Planning at Georgetown University Law Center.
"We are delighted to welcome Hyde Carby to the firm,” said Stan Blanton, managing partner. “We know Hyde's contributions will further elevate our capabilities in estate planning to help our clients prepare for the future.”
Before joining Balch, Hyde supported the Natchez, Mississippi, community by serving on the City of Natchez Civil Service Commission and the Historic Natchez Foundation Board of Directors.
Attorneys in Balch’s Estate Planning & Trusts Practice provide counsel on tax and non-tax aspects of estates, trusts, and financial planning and are committed to delivering a sophisticated approach to estate planning that accounts for situational variables ranging from family situations to financial decisions.
