Law360 Covers Arrival of Lauren Weisman Stein to Jacksonville Office

Lauren Weisman Stein, partner in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial Practice, interviewed with Law360 about her decision to join Balch & Bingham’s Jacksonville, Florida office, and how she plans to leverage her experience in mergers & acquisitions and general corporate counsel to serve the firm’s clients.

In the article published July 18, 2024, Lauren expressed excitement for the firm’s commitment to investing in Florida's business ecosystem and the advantages of providing her clients with a wider range of services.

"For someone like me who has spent not only their entire career, but their entire life in Jacksonville, it made perfect sense to join a firm that sees the exciting advancements in our region and offers boutique service on the ground locally with broader support throughout their southeastern footprint," Law360 quoted Lauren as saying.

Lauren’s practice focuses on corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private placement fundraising, and complex commercial contracting. Lauren also has valued experience serving clients as outside general counsel. As an extension of their management teams, clients seek Lauren’s advice on matters including sales and contracting strategy, investor relations, workforce onboarding and maintenance, fundraising and strategic growth goals, regulatory compliance, and dispute management. Lauren deeply values clients’ trust and long-term relationships.

In her interview, Lauren shared that her curiosity about how things work naturally transitioned into a focus on business as she pursued her legal career.

"From where I sit now, I see into dozens of industries, counsel businesses of varying sizes, capital structures, and organizational structures, and work with founders and management teams with diverse goals," Lauren said. "Whether I'm helping clients strategize about how to grow from where they are today to where they want [to] be, or I'm seeing them through an exit or generational transition, my ultimate goals are to make working with a lawyer as fun, valuable, and economically predictable as possible," Law360 quoted Lauren as saying.
Tara Ellis, chair of the firm's corporate and commercial practice, praised Lauren as a valuable addition to the team.

"Her broad experience in corporate matters, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, is a great complement to our team and will enhance our capabilities to better serve our clients," Tara was quoted as saying.
