Leo Manuel Appointed to United Way of South Mississippi Board of Directors

Leo Manuel, Office Managing Partner of Balch’s Gulfport, Mississippi office, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for United Way of South Mississippi. In this role, Leo will help advance United Way’s mission to support health, education, and financial stability initiatives throughout the region, bringing his leadership and deep community commitment to the organization.

United Way of South Mississippi collaborates with local partners to create lasting, measurable change across the Gulf Coast. Its board members help steer the organization’s impact-driven work, as Leo joins a group of civic-minded leaders who share a dedication to serving their communities and building a stronger future for South Mississippi.

Leo has a diverse legal practice in the areas of commercial litigation and transactions, renewable energy development, public utility regulation, economic development and general corporate governance. Leo possesses twenty years of experience in very large and complex commercial and energy legal matters ranging from asset merger and acquisition to multi-billion dollar project permitting and rate cases. Leo's experience and diverse knowledge base has been leveraged to create favorable outcomes in the courtroom, at the negotiation table, and in the regulatory hearing room.

Leo’s work with the United Way is his latest community involvement. He has also served on the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk & Heart Ball, the Board of Directors for the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce, and on the Emerging Executive Committee for Gulf Coast Business Council.
