Liz Williamson Speaks at Virginia Environmental Health & Safety Conference

Liz Williamson, partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and member of Balch’s Environmental & Natural Resources Practice, presented at the Virginia Environmental Health & Safety (VEHS) Conference, hosted by the Virginia Manufacturers Association. The event served as a platform to share industry expertise and address the affordability and sustainability of industrial environmental, health and safety regulations on the Virginia economy.

Liz co-moderated a panel featuring representatives from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation Regulatory Briefing, and Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. The panel, a highlight of the conference, provided a comprehensive regulatory briefing on pending and proposed regulations affecting air, water, waste, recycling, climate change, land use, and permitting practices. The annual session is popular among attendees as a “one-stop shop” for crucial updates on state regulations.

The conference, which took place in September 2024, gathered Virginia industry, regulators and legislators to exchange best practices, information and technology surrounding industrial environmental, health and safety.

The VMA serves as a industry voice, working to create the most favorable business environment in the United States for advanced technology companies to establish their operations and maximize productivity and profitability in Virginia.
