What types of clients do you represent?

I represent a wide range of clients from solo physician practices to large healthcare networks. I have been honored to work with newly established healthcare providers, established entities who were looking to attain compliance, as well as practitioners who were looking to wind-down or prepare their practices to be sold.
What previous experiences, prior to your work at Balch, influence your practice?

Prior to my work at Balch and starting Dunson Group, LLC, I served as the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the Alabama Department of Public Health for 10.5 years. In that role, I oversaw HIPAA and HITECH compliance for 64 of Alabama's county health departments, the state laboratory and the ALL KIDS health plan. I also served as an Assistant General Counsel for the agency where I was a primary attorney for the regulation of healthcare facilities. I was later tasked to create the agency’s first Office of Compliance and Ethics for which I served as the Director and advised the agency on healthcare regulatory matters.
