  • What previous experiences, prior to your work at Balch, influence your practice?
    Prior to joining Balch, I represented investor-owned electric utilities in matters arising under the federal Pole Attachments Act (and similar legal frameworks in “reverse preemption” states), as well before the United States Court of Federal Claims in cases involving disposal costs for spent nuclear fuel.
  • What types of clients do you represent?
    I represent a wide array of clients within the energy industry, including the more traditional electric and fossil fuel utilities, as well as companies pioneering in the field of renewable energy.

  • Successfully defended investor-owned electric utility in a high-value complaint proceeding before the Federal Communications Commission involving the “just and reasonableness” of pole attachment licensing costs.
  • Represented investor-owned electric utility in contract negotiations with a large broadband company, which culminated in novel agreement that facilitated a high-volume RDOF deployment.
  • Represented investor-owned electric utility in obtaining disposal costs for spent nuclear fuel at summary judgment stage of litigation pending before the United States Court of Federal Claims.
