- Filter By Electric Reliability Law Blog
On January 2, 2020, in Docket No. RM-16-7-000 and RD18-7-000, NERC submitted its report on the implementation of Reliability Standard BAL-002-2 (Disturbance Control Standard—Contingency Reserve for Recovery from a Balancing Contingency Event) as required by FERC Order No. 835. The report responds to FERC’s request for information regarding megawatt losses during the Contingency Reserve Restoration Period and most severe single contingency (MSSC) exceedances that do not cause energy emergencies. NERC has evaluated disturbance control standard (DCS) data and determined that data regarding implementation of the standard does not indicate any risk of adverse impact to reliability.
