FERC Approves Reliability Standard BAL-003-2

On July 15, 2020, in Docket No. RD20-9-000, FERC issued a delegated letter order approving Reliability Standard BAL-003-2. NERC submitted the Reliability Standard on December 19, 2019. Reliability Standard BAL-003-2 revises the process and methods for calculating the amount of Frequency Response that must be provided in a given operating year to support the reliable operation of the Bulk Power System. The standard also provides NERC with increased flexibility to incorporate additional refinements to the annual process as future lessons are learned.
