Ed Haden, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and chair of the Appellate Practice, recently accepted an invitation for membership to the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.
The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers exists to recognize its members’ long-standing commitment to excellence in the legal field and to promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts.
As chair of Balch’s Appellate Practice, Ed has deep experience in the practices, procedures, and trends of the Alabama appellate courts.He has litigated over 200 appellate matters, including final judgment appeals, mandamus petitions, and certiorari petitions.
American Academy of Appellate Lawyers membership is limited to 500 attorneys across the United States. Members must have at least 15 years of experience in the appellate practice, a reputation of excellence, and an unblemished record of integrity. The organization will officially welcome Ed and the incoming class at the Induction Dinner in April 2019.
Ed serves as chairman of the Standing Committee on the Alabama Rules of Appellate Procedure and is a member of the DRI Appellate Advocacy group. Ed is recognized for his appellate work by Chambers USA 2018 and The Best Lawyers in America 2019.
