Brant Pettis Elected to Board of Commissioners of the Mississippi Bar Association

Brant Pettis, partner in the firm’s Gulfport, Miss. office and member of the Litigation practice, has been elected to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the Mississippi Bar Association. Brant will serve a three year term beginning summer of 2021.

The Board of Bar Commissioners is the governing, executive board of the Mississippi Bar Association and its programs. Annual efforts of the bar include budget development and approval, investigating complaints against Bar members and conducting disciplinary proceedings, liaison efforts between the Bar and the state and federal judiciary, providing advisory ethics opinions, sponsoring the Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program and overseeing the publication of The Mississippi Lawyer.  

Brant previously served as the president of the Harrison County Bar Association. He is also an alumnus of Leadership Mississippi, a program sponsored by the Mississippi Economic Council that is dedicated to developing and maintaining a network of Mississippians committed to strengthening the state's quality of life. 

In his practice, Brant routinely handles commercial litigation. Brant also helps contractors, utilities, and governmental entities comply with environmental and construction-related regulatory requirements. He routinely handles procurement compliance, bid protests, contract disputes, lien and/or bond claims, zoning applications and appeals, and professional negligence claims.
