Balch & Bingham is pleased to welcome Bryan Moore to the Environmental & Natural Resources Practice in Austin, Texas.
Bryan, who joins the firm as a partner, has more than 20 years of experience helping industrial, commercial and oil and gas industry clients navigate and resolve contested environmental permitting proceedings, compliance audits, enforcement actions and litigation to help them manage risks and leverage new opportunities. Bryan is recognized for his comprehensive regulatory compliance experience and his significant litigation experience in which he represents clients in matters arising under nearly every major federal and Texas environmental program in state and federal courts, as well as before agencies including the U.S. EPA, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Railroad Commission of Texas.
In his regulatory compliance counseling practice, he most often works on solid waste matters, including hazardous and nonhazardous industrial waste, municipal solid waste, and recycling. Additionally, he has experience litigating a variety of environmental matters, including contested waste, water, and air permits; citizen suits and agency enforcement actions under nearly every major environmental program; and statutory and common law claims in state and federal courts concerning soil and groundwater contamination, property remediation, and nuisance, trespass, and toxic tort claims.
“Bryan’s experience in both environmental regulatory work and litigation is a rare combination that will add versatility to our nationally recognized environmental practice and serve as a valuable resource to our clients,” said Stan Blanton, managing partner.
Bryan earned his J.D., magna cum laude from the Tulane University Law School, where he earned a Certificate in Environmental Law, served as editor-in-chief of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal and was a member of the Order of the Coif.
“Balch includes some of the nation’s most talented environmental lawyers and this is a terrific opportunity for me to work alongside a top-tier team that is thoroughly familiar with the complex science and technical issues facing many industries, particularly those operating in the energy sector,” Bryan said. “I look forward to helping support the firm’s continued expansion in Texas.”
The firm announced its expansion into Austin in June 2021, with the addition of Energy Partner Todd Kimbrough. The Austin office marks the firm's second Texas location and 11th office nationwide.
