Balch & Bingham’s Anne Kaufold-Wiggins, partner in the firm’s Atlanta office and member of the Litigation Section, has been re-appointed to Georgia’s Judicial Nominating Commission (“JNC”).
First appointed by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to the Commission in 2019, Anne is a part of a small group of attorneys who recommends candidates to fill open judicial positions across Georgia. The Commission reviews applications and conducts interviews before making its recommendations to Governor Kemp, who ultimately makes the judicial appointments.
Anne has more than fifteen years of litigation experience, representing clients in trial, on dispositive motions, and on appeal. She regularly handles a wide variety of litigation, including high stakes personal injury and wrongful death cases, fire cause and origin claims, complex commercial litigation, class actions, environmental torts, and other energy-related matters.
In addition to her role with the JNC, Anne is the immediate past president of the Women's Energy Network’s Greater Atlanta Chapter and a member of the Board of Visitors for the Mercer University School of Law. Another of her passions is her service to the State Bar of Georgia, where she serves Vice-Chair of the Georgia Commission on Continuing Lawyer Competency
