Kye C. Handy Elected 2023 President of The Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division

Kye C. Handy, attorney in the firm’s Jackson office and member of the Litigation Practice, has been elected 2023 president for the Mississippi Bar’s Young Lawyers Division after serving as president-elect for the 2022 term. Her one-year term as president will begin in July, 2023. 

The Young Lawyers Division is composed of lawyers who are 37 years old and younger, along with any lawyer over the age of 37 during their first three years of practice following admission to the Mississippi Bar. Governed by its board of directors, the division is actively involved in many public service endeavors and provides great networking opportunities and events for attorneys navigating the early stages of their legal careers. 

At Balch, Kye focuses on general and commercial litigation. Kye has substantial experience in personal injury matters and municipality defense and has strong working knowledge of various types of chancery and probate matters. She regularly assists clients with deceptive trade practices and toxic tort matters and how to navigate complex e-discovery matters.

Kye currently serves as the diversity council chair of the University of Mississippi School of Law and is a member of the editorial board for the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association. Kye is recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyer, Rising Star and was named a One-to-Watch by the Best Lawyers in America.
