Christina Nuñez Appointed to Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Board of Directors

Christina Nuñez, attorney in the firm’s Jackson office and member of the Corporate & Commercial Practice, has been elected to the Board of Directors for The Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD). Her appointment will span a two-year term beginning in August 2024, during which she will serve as Director of the Hinds Post III and focus on developing programming and resources to support the personal and professional growth of Mississippi young lawyers. 

The Mississippi Bar YLD is comprised of lawyers aged 37 and under, as well as those in their first three years of practice, fostering a vibrant and dynamic legal community. This division champions numerous public service initiatives each year, which include producing training videos for the Guardian Ad Litem program, offering free legal assistance to disaster victims, and hosting a high school mock trial competition. It also provides valuable opportunities for members to earn continuing legal education credits.

Additionally, Christina serves as the District Representative of Mississippi and Puerto Rico for the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (ABA YLD), on the Women of Color Team for the ABA YLD, and serves as a liaison to the American Bar Association’s Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights and Responsibilities.

At Balch, Christina’s practice focuses mainly on business and healthcare transactions. Christina advises clients through a wide range of complex transactional matters from contract proposals to compliance inquiries. She uses her experience to provide clear, comprehensive solutions for each client’s unique needs. Previously, Christina worked as a judicial extern for The Honorable David Neil McCarty, Mississippi Court of Appeals in Jackson. 

A graduate of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s Pathfinder program, Christina was awarded the Pathfinder Atlas Award in recognition of her engagement throughout the program. She also successfully completed the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Latina Commission Leadership Academy.
