Greg Cook, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and chair of the Financial Services Litigation Practice, served as the author of the Fifth Edition of the Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure Annotated, published by Thomson Reuters.
The Fifth Edition marks the first revision since 2004 to the publication, which serves as the definitive treatise on the Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure and as a first resource for legal practitioners.
Recently reviewed by The Alabama Lawyer, Greg’s contribution is described as “the practitioner’s tool and the judge’s companion. What he has done with Justice Lyons’s work is a great service to the bar and to the cause of legal scholarship in Alabama.”
They added, “Cook’s Rule 23 discussion, which is entirely new, is quite literally a 30-page treatise-within-a-treatise, a must-reference for any practitioner of any experience dealing with a class-action issue.”
Greg’s practice centers on financial services and commercial litigation, including class action and complex litigation. He served in many different positions within the ABA Litigation Section for nearly 20 years, has been a member of the leadership for the section for a decade, and has published two books for the ABA on class actions. Greg is a member of the Alabama Supreme Court’s Standing Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Benchmark Litigation and Martindale-Hubbell, and was named a BTI Client Service All-Star for 2017-2018 and 2018-2019.
