Anne Kaufold-Wiggins Reappointed to Georgia’s Judicial Nominating Commission

Anne Kaufold-Wiggins, partner in the firm’s Atlanta office and a member of the Litigation Practice, has been reappointed to Georgia’s Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) by Governor Brian P. Kemp. Anne, who has been a member of the JNC since 2019, will continue to serve through 2025.

The JNC recommends qualified candidates for judicial vacancies in Georgia’s state, superior, and appellate courts. 

Governor Kemp expressed his appreciation for the Commission’s service and stated, “The Judicial Nominating Commission plays a crucial role in ensuring Georgia's courts are filled with qualified, capable, and ethical members who will ensure justice is done for all Georgians.”

Anne is an accomplished litigator. She successfully defends her clients at every stage of litigation, including in trial, upon motions, and on appeal. Anne takes a proactive role in serving her client’s needs. Anne regularly handles a wide variety of cases, including high stakes personal injury and wrongful death cases, nuisance and trespass suits, fire cause and origin claims, complex commercial litigation, class actions, environmental torts, and other energy-related litigation. Anne has a growing appellate practice, having participated in more than twenty appeals, including sixteen victories. Anne specializes in representing electric utilities, including both investor-owned utilities and electric membership corporations. She counsels her utility clients with respect to policy, risk management, corporate governance, and joint use and pole attachment issues. Anne invests in understanding clients' businesses and strategically partnering with them to minimize risks.
